I am Dr Lucy Francis, a Clinical Psychologist who is dedicated to supporting children, young people, and families to navigate challenges and build on their strengths. I have a First Class Honours degree in Psychology from the University of London and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Southampton. With over 10 years of experience, I have had the privilege of working within a wide range of NHS services, including specialist teams such as neurodevelopmental assessment services, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) and intellectual disability teams. This breadth of experience has enabled me to support individuals with a wide range of psychological difficulties and neurodevelopmental needs. While my experience spans across all age groups, I specialise in working with children, young people, and their families.
I provide compassionate, tailored therapy in an accessible and affirming space, in order to support individuals to overcome challenges in their lives. My approach is integrative, drawing on evidence-based models including (but not limited to) Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT). Within my therapeutic work, I am committed to creating a space that feels validating and responsive to each person’s needs.
I am particularly skilled in adapting therapy to meet the needs of neurodivergent individuals, ensuring that everyone can access effective and meaningful support in a way that feels comfortable and supportive.
I also have extensive experience in delivering assessments for neurodevelopmental conditions, including Autism and ADHD. In addition, I am experienced in completing cognitive assessments, which can provide valuable insights into an individual’s learning profile, cognitive strengths and areas of difficulty. These assessments can help inform tailored support strategies in educational, clinical, and everyday settings.
Outside of my clinical work, I love running and staying active, as it plays an important role in my own wellbeing. I enjoy a sense of challenge and achievement-my most recent challenge was completing the London Marathon, which was an incredible experience.
Whether you’re seeking support for yourself, your child, or your family, I will be alongside you every step of the way. My role is to help you navigate challenges with care and understanding, explore what matters most to you and work together toward meaningful change that feels achievable and empowering.
