Dr. Lauren Ingram
Clinical Psychologist
I’m Lauren, a Clinical Psychologist with over 15 years experience working in mental health services. I have an Honours Degree in Psychology from the University of Plymouth and completed my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Southampton in 2018. I have worked across a variety of services in my career, and have been privileged to work with a broad range of individuals (across the lifespan 5-85 yrs), families, and staff teams. I therefore have good experience of working with a range of psychological difficulties, life experiences and/or neurodevelopmental differences (such as Autism Spectrum Condition and ADHD).
I am experienced in working with children, teenagers, adults, families and parents. An important part of my work is to see an individual as part of a ‘system’ rather than in isolation. Although we may work 1:1, we would also be able to explore the systemic factors present. Together we will develop a plan of how we will work towards the future you would like to see beyond the end of therapy.
I am dedicated to my work and feel incredibly privileged to work with people both during and following difficult and challenging times of their lives. I understand how daunting it can be to seek support initially and make that first step, and then secondly to meet with someone new. I will endeavour to put you at ease in order for us to work together in a safe, non judgemental and supportive space.
I have undertaken additional training in the following therapeutic approaches; EMDR, EMDR for children and adolescents, Narrative Therapy, DDP Level 1, ACT for adolescents, Emotion Regulation Skills. Our work can draw on and adapt a variety of approaches to suit you and your goals.
I really appreciate getting to know about my clients values, strengths and interests as I believe these can be key in a therapeutic journey.
In my spare time, I love being creative (and often use this in my work), baking, music, time with family/friends, and exercise.
I look forward to meeting with you.
