Our Therapies

Clinical Psychologists, Nurse Therapists & Integrative Therapists are trained in a number of different therapy approaches which allows them to find the right approach that will suit and meet your needs.

All of our work is drawn from evidence based research and we undertake regular supervision and ongoing training to keep up to date with new developments.

We also offer supervision to other clinicians and professionals as well as provide consultations and deliver training.

Please view each clinician's profile to develop a more detailed understanding of their background, training and what they are able to support you with.

Here are a few types of therapies our clinicians offer:

Integrative Therapy

Integrative therapy recognises that there is no “one size fits all” approach to therapy. Instead, it draws on different therapeutic models to meet your unique needs, personality, and goals. This approach looks at the whole person — emotional, psychological, relational, and sometimes physical experiences — rather than focusing on a single symptom.

Sessions may involve exploring past experiences, current patterns, emotions, thoughts, and practical coping strategies, depending on what feels most helpful for you. Integrative therapy is especially suited to people who want a flexible, responsive approach and value a strong, trusting therapeutic relationship.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing)

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy that helps individuals process distressing memories and experiences. It can be used to support both adults and children and is effective for a wide range of challenges—from single traumatic events, such as accidents or sudden losses, to more complex trauma that develops over time. EMDR works by helping the brain reprocess distressing memories safely, reducing emotional distress and promoting healing, resilience, and a greater sense of wellbeing. Our trained clinicians tailor EMDR to meet the unique needs of each client, providing a safe and supportive environment throughout the therapy process.

CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy)

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a structured, evidence-based approach that helps individuals understand and manage unhelpful thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. Suitable for both adults and children, CBT is effective for a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, stress, and low self-esteem. Through guided sessions, clients learn practical strategies to identify patterns, challenge negative thinking, and develop coping skills that can be applied in everyday life. Our clinicians tailor CBT to meet each client’s unique needs, providing a supportive and collaborative environment to promote lasting positive change.

ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy)

ACT helps you build a healthier relationship with difficult thoughts and feelings rather than trying to eliminate them entirely. Instead of focusing on “getting rid” of discomfort, ACT supports you in accepting what you can’t control while committing to actions that align with your values — the things that truly matter to you. This can create greater psychological flexibility, resilience, and a sense of meaning. ACT is often helpful for anxiety, depression, stress, and life transitions, especially if you feel stuck in cycles of avoidance or self-criticism.

CAT (Cognitive Analytic Therapy)

CAT explores how early experiences and relationships shape the patterns we repeat in our lives — particularly in relationships and how we treat ourselves. Together, we identify recurring patterns that may once have been protective but are now causing distress. CAT is collaborative and reflective, helping you understand why certain difficulties keep showing up and how to recognise and change them. This therapy can be especially helpful for long-standing emotional difficulties, relationship issues, or feeling stuck in the same cycles despite trying to change.

Interpersonal Psychotherapy

Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT) is a time-limited, evidence-based therapy that focuses on improving relationships and communication, which can have a direct impact on emotional wellbeing. IPT helps individuals understand how personal difficulties, such as grief, role transitions, conflicts, or social isolation, affect their mood and behaviour. By exploring these interpersonal challenges, clients learn practical strategies to manage emotions, strengthen relationships, and build support networks. IPT is suitable for both adults and adolescents and is often used to treat depression, anxiety, and other mood-related difficulties in a structured, supportive environment.

Compassion Focused Therapy

Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) is an evidence-based approach designed to help individuals develop greater self-compassion and reduce feelings of shame, self-criticism, and emotional distress. CFT combines techniques from cognitive-behavioural therapy with mindfulness and compassionate mind training to support emotional regulation, resilience, and psychological wellbeing. This therapy is suitable for both adults and adolescents and can be particularly helpful for those struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, or low self-esteem. Through CFT, clients learn to respond to themselves with kindness and understanding, fostering a more balanced and nurturing relationship with their own thoughts and emotions.

Dyadic Developmental Therapy

Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP) is a relationship-based therapy designed to help children and adolescents who have experienced trauma, attachment difficulties, or disrupted early relationships. It focuses on creating a safe, nurturing, and trusting therapeutic environment where children can explore their feelings and experiences with the support of a trained clinician. DDP works by strengthening the parent-child relationship, helping caregivers respond to the child’s emotional needs, and promoting healing from early relational trauma. This approach supports emotional regulation, resilience, and positive attachment, enabling children and families to build stronger, healthier connections.

Mindfulness based therapy

Mindfulness-Based Therapy is an evidence-based approach that helps individuals cultivate present-moment awareness and develop a non-judgmental, compassionate relationship with their thoughts and emotions. By learning to observe thoughts, feelings, and bodily sensations without becoming overwhelmed or reactive, clients can reduce stress, anxiety, and emotional distress, and improve overall wellbeing. Suitable for both adults and adolescents, mindfulness-based therapy can be integrated into other therapeutic approaches or offered as a standalone intervention, supporting emotional regulation, resilience, and a greater sense of calm and balance in daily life.
